Meta Pro | Poster Design
Engaging an audience can be achieved through a careful selection of type and its placement. The Meta Pro typeface provides practicality with style. I illustrated these qualities by designing a poster that balances urbanity and functionality. By placing the title "Meta Pro" in all small caps, a valuable feature in this typeface, it provides an anchor for the upper half of the poster. To distinguish the more important word in the title I placed the Pro in a lighter weight called "Thin" so as to not overpower the Meta which is set in the heaviest weight "Black". This typeface offers over 8 weights, all useful when organizing text.

One of my goals for this poster design was to highlight the varied angles and structures found in the Meta Pro alphabet. I arranged the history of the type to mimic the angle that the letter Z provides. Likewise I integrated the complete alphabet at a slope to bring the eye to the center of the poster. There I included several pieces of text filled with glyphs and symbols that add texture and reflect the functionality of the typeface.

When choosing the colors for this design I chose a palette that is bright but still practical. Blue can be a cold color so I chose a deep blue that skewed more purple to convey attractiveness, just like how violets in nature are more rare. I choose a more berry colored pink to provide contrast. By arranging the type in an angle and in a bright color, it reflects the versatility of the typeface. It can be commanding and modern. The same way that the grey two and Z take command of the poster but still leave space for other type to be noticed. Overall the design of this poster is meant to reflect the capacity Meta Pro has to serve a variety of needs.
