Chief Kiwanda Rock - A Study

Often referred to as Haystack Rock, a name shared with another similar feature an hour North, the original name was believed to be Chief Kiwanda Rock, named after an early leader of the local Native American tribe.
The rock itself is 340.6ft (103.8m), sits nearly half a mile from the edge of the cape, and is believed to be the result of volcanic eruptions somewhere between 16 and 25 million years ago.
