Levitation Photography

LEVITATION PRACTICE
Step 1: Watch Youtube Tutorials: (these are two I have picked by there are many available, I guarantee if you watch a few you will feel much more confident and have a better understanding of the process and how to make it look good - just search levitation photography in Youtube) You can also have a look at the examples from students at the bottom of this document.

Step 2: Have a go at creating your own levitation photo using this technique. Choose a location and set your camera/phone up on a tripod so it is in exactly the same spot for both photos. Use a timer and yourself, this will mean that you can try different ideas without relying on another person. Don’t be afraid of looking silly. Look at me :)

What is levitation Photography:
Levitation photography is a simple concept of layer masking in Photoshop. To break it down in simple terms, a picture of the scene is taken without any props and models. Later, several pictures are taken with the model and the props by suspending them in air.

My final photo's from week 13 tasks:
Reflection:
The images I have created are not successful. I enjoyed doing the shoot as it was fun to play around with the model and get them to engage with the background. I struggled to use photo shopping apps which represented within my image. My camera was not positioned in the same spot for both the subject and the background which made it more challenging to erase and blend. For future references I need to use a tripod to assure my background and subject are in the same position. I also need to improve on the blending amongst the background and subject. It is very obvious where the brush marks were which is not effective in a levitation image.
