Hiroshi Yoshimura (吉村弘, Yoshimura Hiroshi, 22 October 1940 – 23 October 2003) was a Japanese musician and composer.
He is considered a pioneer of ambient music in Japan.
Mostly the minimalist genre of kankyō ongaku, or environment music — soft electronic melodies infused with the sounds of nature; babbling brooks, steady rain, morning birds.
The exhibition relies on the life of Hiroshi Yoshimura, the famous artist belonging to the minimalist genre, who bases his compositions on the Zen philosophy infusing wisely the Japanese sounds with the melodies of nature. Through his embracing music he wants to permeate the world with ideals of peace and balance making the listeners mentally surrounded by the natural elements of the Japanese flora. So the aim of this conceptual exhibition is to create an environment in which you can temporarily feel suspend in a sensation of harmony and reconciliation with nature.
