The Twin

Coventry has 26 twin cities in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Therefore, theses posters choose the year of the relationship between the 26 cities and their twin cities as the main message. I knew from the search that the twin cities meant that their friendship was like a bond. They maintain a bond of friendship and reflect the best cultural exchange. This kind of close friendship reminds me of the relationship between people and shadows. 26 cities as near and far as Coventry. So in the 26 cities on the poster, I used the font layout of the mirror principle to symbolize the shadow and express the theme of twins.
On the other hand, I designed a blurry font to show the distance between the twins. In terms of color, I mainly chose red, blue and white. Due to the Coventry and most cities were rebuilt after the war, red stands for war, destruction and struggle. Blue represents peace. White represents pure friendship. The project included 26 posters promoting the Coventry biennale on social media, depicting cities in different countries. The color of the twins' shadow was chosen from the national flag, making it easier for people from the country to recognize. Also, to attract more visitors to the exhibition and carry out dynamic advertising, 26 cities formed a capital C(Coventry), which rotated in the visual center of the poster. The closeness of the 26 twin cities reflects the best cultural exchange. The animation was an extension of the twin idea and was used to promote the exhibition.
