Window into Asia -Installation Art

Window into Asia
I was invited by Lowe Singapore to create a piece of installation art for their office. The brief was to celebrate the diversity and richness of culture in the region. I chose to adopt a tongue in cheek tone for this installation art piece, sourcing old movie posters, ads, iconic packaging designs and quirky signages from antique shops in Chinatown, Singpaore, Chor Bazaar (Market of Thieves) in Bombay and scouring various historical shops and dives across India and Singapore. I found some hand painted metallic plates and composed this representation of the facade of an old building. I installed a recycled window found in Chor Bazaar and gave the whole wooden panelling a distressed look, much like the crumbling buildings in the grungier districts of most Asian cities.
