CRIOLLO
F/W 19/20
Personal collection created during second year at Istituto Marangoni, Milan, during the AFAM course of Fashion Design & Accesories (with Menswear Pathway).
In the first assignment during the first semester, students were asked to create a collection for a specific brand, taken from a list which the school provided. After that first moment, students had to create a personal collection that worked as competition for that brand.
My collection was inspired by the Gaucho: a folkloric national symbol in Uruguay and Argentina, who is a skilled horseman, reputed to be brave and unrulyThe Gaucho is a typical element of the oriental campaign. Its origin dates to the beginning of the Oriental Band (actual Uruguayan territory), mostly to the introduction of cattle raising, arising like a mix of different cultures and ethnicities that lived in our territory.
Since my choice of brand for the first assignment was Saint Laurent, I took their dark glamour, and mixed it together with the Gaucho symbol style and menswear '70s style.
