I wanted my concept to be able to reflect where I grew up, which was around Seattle, WA. it didn't really take me long to come up with my concept design because I already knew I wanted it to reflect Seattle, WA and I Knew the seattle skyline is pretty popular. So, I based my concept off of the Seattle Skyline. I made the skyline simple without too much going on.
By looking at different Seattle skyline photos and designs online, I knew I wanted my sketch to be simple. I wanted it to have enough detail in it as well to let the viewer know what it is I am trying to convey or tell.
This is what came out when I first started to design my gig poster. I knew there was some work to be done to it.
From the beginning of getting feedback I knew from reading what people were letting me know about my gig poster that there was more I could do. I knew that the color definitely had to change within the buildings and the sky. it didn't feel right. Also, I knew that the text had to change as well because it was just thrown in one spot and looked cramped and like it didn't belong. So, I looked at more gig posters and incorporated some of the ways they incorporated text.
The final gig poster product.
My gig poster meets the objectives I was going for because I knew of the start I wanted to incorporate Seattle, WA where I grew up around my entirely life and punk rock. I knew I wanted to make it simple  with enough detail so it is pleasing to look at. I used the feedback I got from people by doing more with the sky and making it flow with the buildings of the skyline. changing the colors really helped change the mood I was trying to go for, which was more dark. Also, with the text, I used a couple fonts that incorporates the theme or mood I am trying to portray, especially with the band title. It helps tie everything together.
