I have been challenge why I use my technique and then pair it with a challenging and often controversial messages. Politically unpopular statements in a market where Art directors are looking for the best work but also have to balance technique with message.
I could have chosen the easier route but I believe there is real value in pushing back. Financial success is all very well, but it is momentary at best, rather ignore that nagging voice in my head and just go with the flow.
I really feel that politician are not royalty - the perks they earn, the lifestyle they live and the clothes on their back are built on the back the poor, hardworking honest tax payers.
I call politicians venal and dishonest because that is my experience. They demand what they have not earned and deserve even less. The dirt poor, I mean those who earn less than a $1 a day, support burgeoning families they can hope to support let alone send the school, certainly university is out of the question. Further are placing their trust in broken people govern by self-interest and narcissistic personalities - who have no compunction to lie to the poor to grow their bank balances by stealing from those they promised to help.
I would rather produce unpopular design and struggle than make people comfortable in their absolute ignorance. My mother taught me that you are only as strong as the hands that hold you!
