As a memorial to the aftermath of the Second World War, the memorial for the murdered Jews of Europe was opened in central Berlin in 2005. If you speak to visitors on site, it quickly becomes clear that especially young visitors often do not understand the importance of the memorial. They lack a personal connection to the Holocaust, which is why we reenact stories from contemporary witnesses at the memorial.
