Throughout his life Andy Warhol had a very strange, co-dependant relationship with his mother. She often admitted that Andy was he "favourite" and lived with him in his house in New York.
Death has been a central theme in Andy Warhol's work. His fascination and fear of death stem from his own experiences, he lost his father when he was 13 and he was shot by one of his entourage, he even was pronounced dead twice. He lived an incredibly colourful life that contrasts his quiet passing on a hospital bed due to surgery complications.
