Poster and Social Media Project
EVENT POSTER
For my Event Poster project, I chose to create an event from one of my favorite shows, Gilmore Girls. Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I really wanted to make a poster that was Christmas themed, so I chose the Winter Carnival from the show, which is a Christmas town event, with free food, games, and the lighting of their town tree. The show is set in the early 2000s, with vintage aesthetic, so I was inspired by earthy, vintage colors. At the same time, I wanted to keep the design modern, and I wanted a design that could be incorporated into Instagram posts well to grab the audience's attention. I chose a modern design, with vintage text, and chose a tan colored background with earthy Christmas colors.
INSTAGRAM POSTS
For my Instagram posts, I really wanted to incorporate the main theme from the poster, but focus more on the modern aspect of the design. I decided to incorporate the modern star design throughout all of the posts. Then, I used the tree design as the center post without any text to really grab the reader's attention so they would want to find out more about the event. I loved the color scheme of the poster so much that I wanted to keep that in the social media designs. I also wanted to incorporate the black thin lines throughout all the posts to keep the posts look more unified and together.
