But to tell you the truth its just becomes fun when you learn how children react. I am lucky, I have a little girl and and the second one is on the way. I have learnt a lot from having my own daughter. You know what cartoons are in vogue, what toys and brand names they are presently being bombarded with. That is a great advantage because from their side they are seeing a "grown up" with a camera in his hands, a machine that makes noises and is being pointed at them. Not only that, most of the time they see some relative bouncing around making funny faces trying to get the to smile. Well my rules of engagement are to leave your weapon of choice (canon, nikon or and other camera make) aside and establish a primary language of communication. That to me is the fundamental, showing them that you are going down to their level and that they are the can show off what they know. Give them importance and you will be accepted as one of the tribe.
