The quality of any fish dish depends on the unique journey it takes from the sea to the plate: the way it was grown, caught, preserved, and cooked. This is what makes fish so interesting for me and makes me want to encourage and facilitate the consumption of fish in modern homes.
This idea makes fish accessible to everyone. An online fishmonger where the user can choose the fish from a selected range of fresh fish every day.
The app enables the user to see the promotions of the day, supporting small businesses to sell more and reduce the amount of food wasted daily.
The user has a range of opportunities to choose their unique order selecting the best ingredients. Options of how the fishmonger should prepare the fish or how many people they are cooking for are available in the app.
The delicious fresh fish caught locally and sustainably by traditional fishermen using fishing methods that cause little damage to the wildlife is available to the consumer just a click away.
The user can order the fish and other ingredients from the recipe, that are delivered to their home in compostable packaging addressing the urgent need of a sustainable attitude towards the fishing and packaging industry.
The fish is preserved in ice throughout the journey and maintains its freshness and nutrients, reducing waste of materials in industry.
Delicious and easy-to-follow recipes from local restaurants and chefs available in the app make it easy to cook at home again.
My goal is to develop a fully functioning app alongside a delivery system, probably starting in Porto and also London. I see this project as part of the social modernisation of traditional businesses and activities in urban areas.
