Bigums is a passion project I did with my wife. She wrote the story and I created the Artwork. It was my first time illustrating a children's book. I was a big challenge but I really enjoyed working on it with her :)

Bigums is a school-aged rhino that gets teased because of her large stature. She struggles with acceptance from her peers, but with a little hard advice from her mother she realizes that being herself is exactly who she needs to be in order to sustain self-worth and even be an inspiration to someone else who is going through a similar experience.

Bigums is a fun declaration of living life equally. It speaks to the reader a message of fair treatment, acceptance, and despite the unfair treatment of others, it promotes a positive self-image. It is colorful, fun, and introduces one method of dealing with the issue of bullying.
