A Caring Connection — Targeting Rural Mental Health

A Caring Connection
Targeting Rural Mental Health
An initiative by J'ARMED, A Caring Connection was the result of a three-day design intensive with the QUT School of Design. The concept of this project for Kids Helpline is to provide mental health facilities and services to young adolescents aged five to eighteen in rural regions. The utilisation of pre-existing facilities or construction of new spaces with integration of internet and phone services will allow for young individuals to seek anonymous help.

Furthermore, developing a partnership with charity organisation Angel Flight will allow for counsellors and psychologists to be flown into regions for face to face services with residents. Moving forward, the introduction of a dedicated Kids Helpline button on phone booths will allows additional access for individuals.
