Fast-Slow-car
This was a project from my first year in industrial product design. It contains of making a car that has two speeds, one faster than the other. You can do this by using gears or electrical resistors. I used the resistors way of doing it.
In this project the shape of the car wasn't that important. But still I wanted to make a cool looking car. Because one of my passion is (re)designing cars. So this was a fun project.
The inspiration for this car was taking form the Hoonicorn V1 ( a one off car made by Ken Block) and my favorite Monster Jam car from when I was a kid: Maximum Destruction.
The chassis of the car is made out off MDF wood and i used some parts off toy monster trucks for the front tire axle.
The body was made out off thin sheet of PS. This was later wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl wrap. Something that was very important in this project was cable management. Because you don't want any cables to tangle up in the electric motor.
The led lights were glued inside a straw and also wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl.
This is the electric scheme
