NTA's Style Project
The brief for this university project was to look into designing a light entertainment set for the National Television Awards and place it in an existing location (Elstree Studios). I decided that I wanted to look at nature and the natural shape, and make a large floral display that would envelop the audience, and focus their attention on the stage. Here are some pictures of my work for this project.
I created a moodboard of images I found via the internet of my main ideas and themes.
From my mood board I started to create a number of sketches and designs, looking at the flow of movement from flowers and floral effects.
I knew there would be a main stage and a 'chat area', where presenters talk to the nominees and winners, so I wanted to make sure that it connected to the main design. I originally looked at drapery and fabric for this area.
I created some 3D models on Sketch Up to see how I would be able to develop my idea physically.
I then moved on to develop technical drawings of my project
I experimented with both a black star cloth and a black star cloth with a white gauze in front of it.
Some visuals I created on Photoshop to represent the set in full colour with the materials.
