The aim of this project is to showcase all your design skill and features it at their best, and should invite agencies
to consider you as a possible junior designer in the near future.
I am a very versatile designer with no specific way of designing.
I am a mixture of different styles and different possibilities.
This fits in with my physical appearance and personality,
as I am covered in beauty-spots that don’t follow a specific pattern,
and I have a very busy personality.
The big idea is to play with the word ‘mengelmoes’.
Mengelmoes means a mixture of things in Afrikaans. I decided on doing my copy in the way I speak and communicate to make it even more personal. The ‘moes’ part in the word is the Afrikaans word for a beauty spot. Therefore, my visual language will be driven by dots, circles and marks that represent me.
I want to convince future employers that they need a ‘moesie’ for a little extra something in their agency.
The project consists of business cards, letterheads, an envelope, a bouncy ball, two interactive posters, an email signage and a direct mail. The direct mail includes a pen, stickers, a mini Résumé, a poster and business cards.
The copy is quirky, with a tongue-in-cheek tone. The paper choice was made to showcase my ability to work with different types of paper, applying die cuts and perforated areas to make a simple thing like a poster interactive. Foiling is used in some areas for a little sparkle, which also fits into the direct mailer package.
