Esta habitação encontrava-se negligenciadas a vários anos e o proprietário não queria apenas remodelar o apartamento. Pretendia adequar o apartamento as necessidades da vida quotidiana actual. Devido a sua localização e ao facto de ser um R/c, apresentava vários problemas como a falta de luz natural, falta de arrumação e espaços desadequados as necessidades actuais.
O objectivo era maximizar as divisões e os percursos na habitação, com o intuito de deixar a luz entrar em todas as divisões, criar uma comunicação fácil entre os diferentes espaços e aumentar o espaço vivencial da habitação.
This apartment was severely neglected for several years and the owner did not want a simple rehab, he wanted to adapt the apartment to a contemporary life style. Due to it's location and the fact that it is a ground floor apartment, it present issues like the lack of natural light, storage and the overall organisation of the existing spaces.
The objective was to reorganize all living spaces by creating a new way to move around in the apartment. This new way of moving around the house made possible for natural light to be present in every space of the house, allowing comfortable spaces and enlarge useful areas in the apartment.
A falta de iluminação natural do apartamento foi uma constante projectual desde o inicio. A dimensão dos vãos foi considerada na organização espacial da habitação, foi importante tornar as zonas sociais o mais luminosas possível. As cores e as texturas foram escolhidas de forma a tornar a atmosfera o mais luminosa possível, com um grande contraste claro/escuro.
The lack of natural light was a constant during the project, the dimension of the windows played an important role in organising the interior spaces, it was necessary to make the social compartments of the apartment as bright as possible.The ideia of making the atmosphere as bright possible, with huge contrast between light/shadows, was also reflected on the selection of colours, materials and textures.
