Vain Elämää (Best Singers)

Vain Elämää (Best Singers) season 9
I worked as the second prop master for a popular Finnish television series Vain Elämää (Best Singers). My main job revolved around the different activities the seven artists took part in each day.
Big part of my job was being crafty and making practical props for the artists to use during their activities. One such project was creating easily breakable concrete bricks out of polystyrene. Above left: The fake block on top of a real one, still work in progress. Middle: One of the fake block on top of real ones. Right: One of the artists breaking the fake brick during his demonstration of taekwondo.
I also made sure each activity was in place and organised nicely each day and on time for the camera crew to start working. Above: A festival set up inside a barn because the weather was rainy. Below: Tents wrapped in thick clingfilm for a spray paint activity.
One of the more hands on creative activities was finger painting. The artists did portraits of each other using toxic free paints and other natural materials like bark and leaves. I mixed and laid out each paint colour and set up a table in the bohemian style of the day's main artist.
One of my personal favourites was filling this little red car with all kinds of crafty and not so crafty materials, so the artists could have a Pimp My Ride style activity. I did also end up hoovering the field afterwards, no plastic feathers were left to mess nature.

Below: Some more setups of props I did for taekwondo, farm visit and dodge ball.
