Inspiration // The Last Unicorn by America
End and beginning. Darkness and light. Loneliness and relationships. Belonging and freedom. Pain and happiness. Illness and recovery.
Black and white. With a little blue.
When I've been doing this art project I wanted to express these dichotomies what we face in our lives. The main inspiration for me was the story of The Last Unicorn, because I think the ancient tale of this mystic creature embodies these dualities - she was the last one of her species, she was free but always lonely and always wanted to belong somewhere.
These opposite feelings are symbolized by the contrast between shiny and dark makeup elements, the pureness of white and the mystery of dark colors.
