This project  was indeed a huge excitment and joy to create, mostly because I 'discovered' something yet unknown to me – the very exciting style of the 1920's!
 The comission was to create something for a lady who adores the 1920's style and has her own vintage shop named Miss Peacock, and is quite religious.
After studying the truly creative and fascinating style of the 1920's, I produced this inscription, with the psalm 139:14 that says:

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful, my Soul knows it well.
For the picture, I chose to draw a young girl, dressed up in the 1920's style, holding two peacocks on pearl ribbons, that also decorate the girl's neck. The peacock signifies immortality, for it was believed that it's body doesn't decompose after death.
The ornaments on the top and the bottom are from the Miss Peacock's official flyer, so that all is intertwined.
 As for the material, I used the paper that's so easy to crumple. I had to buy it three times anew to finally bring it home without the extra folds :-)!!
Then, when I finally wrote the text and painted it – it was almost finished, a drop of sweat from my brow landed on it and made an unrepairable light green splash... SO, I painted a bracelet on that place. Uff! It finally looked good and cool, and I was content.

But then, another crazy problem appeared.
As the picture got to my sister in Berlin, she told me about the terrible mistake I made : I wrote the word 'bin' (am) twice. I'll make a little stop right here. My heraldry mentor would say that back in the old days of the medieval age, every calligraphy work MUST have had at least two mistakes because of the idea that only God is perfect.
Which makes sense from that point of view, but in modern days, and for my clients, I think it's something it would be pretty hard to explain, don't you think?
So, what to do? I didn't see any other way than..to make it all over again :-)!!
This time, I bought the paper only two times, jeej!!
And this is how it finally turned out, to everyone's joy!!!
With of course, the info on the back ;-)!
I hope You enjoyed!!
