Winter Spider Lily
Here is a throwback to my sketchbook from 2017, a collection entitled: Winter Spider Lily.
The theme was of course winter haute couture. With gorgeous spider-lily prints on the fabric, lots of frills and layers, and intriguing accessories.
For the first illustrations I challenged myself to come up with a winter bride look that didn't follow usual conventions. I knew there was going to be a jacket, lace, and fur, and I quickly lay down cool colours as the foundation of the dress. I also felt like challenging the ice-queen stereotypes, so I slipped in some gorgeous hints of red and pink with the spider-lily's. The finishing touch was some fierce crotch-high sock boots to complete the look
What I was trying to do with this second outfit was to play around with the cooling colours of blues and green, but then adding elements of passion into it with the red. We also have the spider-lily flower embellishments, which tie together every look from this collection
Tweed and lace details
Here we are moving away from the cool colours of the previous two looks and leaning more towards warmer colours. Warmer than the icy blue's and greens of the previous outfits, yet the tones are still fresh and light. However added elements of black make for a really gorgeous contrast.
Aside from the jewellery we have leaned entirely towards warm colours, giving a whole new feel compared to the previous looks. The ruffles and gorgeous deep colours are definitely luxurious!
The first outfit designed for men in this collection. Despite the distinct masculinity, we are still keeping to the essential themes which makes this collection what it is, and that means spider-lily embellishments, prints, and gradient tones
