'Ampersand' Typeface Off

My alma mater, Nicholls State University, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, recently held a competition called 'Typeface Off.' The event was sponsored by the NSU AIGA Student Group. Each competitior, students and alimni, 56 all together, received at random the letter or glyph to create. Included in the mix were all 26 letters, an ampersand, and question mark. The competition was to see which was liked more by the public.

I received the ampersand, which is by far, my favorite! I created sketches, and narrowed them down to the top three, and then narrowed that list down to the top 1.
