This was a basic weaving class where I was encouraged to explore weaving with patterns, colours and material, while adhering to a common theme. I chose seashells and the beach as my theme and I explored variations of the basic weave and the twill weave on three different coloured warps. I was asked to reimagine the the material for the weft in my weaves, to see a possibility outside of just the normal varieties of thread. I enjoyed experimenting with the interplay of technique, materials, colours, and patterns, within the constraint of a common theme.
