Evening Wear Project - Couture

The bodice has chikankari embroidery with accents of zardosi work. Base fabric is 60-60 cotton. There is an overlayer of cotton chiffon below the waist. Hems and seams (except the side seams in the bodice ) are hand sewn. Lining has a viscose cotton and silk blend fabric in a satin weave. 

Inspired by women of steel in history like Frida Kahlo, Anna Freud,  and Sabina Nikolayevna Spielrein. I re-imagined them in a situation where they have to be in a formal evening and in which there erotic love interests will be present (maybe not on their side). 
I wanted to create a bold and strong ensemble, that could compete with the powerful, yet elegant personalities of the women mentioned above.
