SCYLLA
Undergraduate Project
Scylla is a wearable technology garment inspired by the greek myth of the same name. The tale goes that Scylla was a beautiful forest nymph who was turned into a sea monster and guarded one side of a channel, killing all that got too close. The design incorporates elements of Octopus, Lobster and Scallop to build up the pauldron. The choice of octopus was due to Scylla often being depicted as part octopus. The lights throughout add a sense of life to the creature. Future steps of the design would be to, if captured in film, CGI the octopus to make it tighten when danger was near. The design is powered by an Arduino Lilypad and LEDs.

Styled with bright orange garment and makeup as well as a coral style crown.
