Brief
Design a publication on a location in Philadelphia. My chosen location was the Wissahickon Valley.
Goal
I wanted a quiet yet evocative feel to the publication to reflect the beauty of the Wissahickon.
Solution
There are many writers who—enchanted by the Wissahickon—wrote poems about it and I featured those in my publication. The expressive typography and layout of each spread is a visual translation of its written content. I used plenty of white space and tranquil photo compositions (all photos taken by me) to create a calm visual pace as you flip the pages.
