Metal CD Packaging Design

Heavy metal CD package for an invented band.

The layout is based on mashing together some of the underground metal aesthetic, and typographic references. It is filled with typography jokes.
Some are more obvious like "Ascender" and "Descender" (the imagined intro and outro of the album). Song titles like "Ends of Good and Evil," and "The Pain Itself" come from translating Lorem Ipsum. "Etaoin Shrdlu" is the most used letters in order. "Body Copy" sounds like a perfect name for a metal song, or just a bunch of paragraphs mashed together. "Dyet Æsc Thorn" are just three letters that existed in Old English that we don't use anymore.
I created this during the build-up to The Force Awakens, so some Star Wars references in the label & production info.
The reproduced medieval woodcut on the disc is that of one of the first generations of printing presses being used, and the body copy is the entire Lorem Ipsum copy translated.
The pseudo-pentagram is merely the overlaying of all of the symmetrical letters & numbers in a thin-weight sans-serif: A H I M O T U V W Y 0 (I know, I forgot 8).
