These are random sketches I have worked on. The main focus was to understand the form and composition of the subject and the style, colour scheme and shading was secondary. My next aim is to work on the finer details such as lighting, proper blending, etc...

This is my attempt at a humming bird. This was created using IPad Pro, Apple Pencil and Procreate. Now that I have a better understanding of the overall shape and design of the bird I can work on the feathers next.

This is my first attempt at a Finch. I think I have the general composition down, the feet and tail still need work but I think that the next step is to work on the feathers.

This is my first attempt at a rose, I've always struggled with the petals and I feel that it came out rather well. I feel that it is a little more cartoonish than I would have originally liked but now I have a better feel for the petals I can work on a better colour scheme and art style.

People have always been my weakest subject and so I thought it would be best to give it a try and to challenge myself. While the blending looks a little strange (it looks like it's made of wax and was left in a warm room) given that it was my first serious attempt at a skull in years, it think it came out rather well.
