Havana one way - film poster

Havana one way - international film poster for a Hungarian documentary

In the winter of 2017 I was asked to design a film poster for a Hungarian documentary, called Havana one way.
In the film we can see the Latin American country through Hungarian women’s everyday life. These women live in Havana for decades.
Kuba is the eternal world of socialism, where an era has come to an end because of Fidel Castro’s death.
The VS. online magazine supported some documentary, including the Havana one way. The creators shot the film in Cuba, in this closed and still changing country in the summer of 2016. Here is the link to watch the film: https://videa.hu/videok/vs/film-animacio/havanna-csak-oda-3ChkRUlGm7w1wjzu?start=1.783
Here are some sketches of the poster. One of the most amazing phenomenon in Kuba is the way how they travel on buses. Dozens of people hanging on the buses and it's completely natural. If you watch the film, you can recognise the main characters on the poster.
The final poster.
I have chosen a special technique for printing. The risograph printing technique is similar to screen printing, but reproduces the original as well as the photocopier.
The filmmakers: Adam Breier, Edit Blaumann, Vera Vodal
The photographer: Nora Lugosi
The printer: Arpad Szigeti ( Hurrikanpress) feat Absoloot letterpress
The graphic designer: Dia Ghyczy
