This quote by Plato is the source of inspiration my video project is created on.

Plato held the opinion that the soul itself is immortal as immaterial principle. The soul is in the ascendancy over the body and will persist even after its destruction. Therefore the soul is entitled to rule over it. 

Together with the body it will induce perceptions, findings, beliefs, emotions, drives and triggers physical effects. 
It is significant over the entire period of bond with the body due to its cognitive faculty, intellectual capacity, appetitive power as well as positive and negative virtues that it brings to bear while acquiring experience with lust and pain.

From a modern point of view, we call this the subconscious mind. It is omnipresent, though impalpable most of the time.
The subconsciousness processes internal and external influences and therefore has an impact on our resulting behavior and thinking.

Most often the subconsciousness is acting as a passive observer. But there is a moment of it becoming active. Of it taking over and of it living up. At night. In our sleep.

All the influences we experienced during the day is now processed in form of dreams. 

Even though we don´t undergo them aware, they have an impact on our body and our mind.

In my project, I decided to recreate exactly these abstract pictorial and emotional worlds.

The term »Subliminal« taken in a psychological view, describes any sensory stimuli below an individual´s threshold. Which means that these stimuli never cross the threshold to one's consciousness and one won´t perceive them or at least won´t be able to discriminate (separate) them as those. 

To visualize this scenario, I decided to portray a dream world. A young woman, lying in her bed is to see. She is breathing calmly. As the music intensifies, visualizations are starting to move upon her skin. These follow the atmosphere of the music and are therefore visualizing various emotions. 

My film doesn´t tell a tangible story. It has no arc of suspense, no peak. 

If anything – It is supposed to create an atmosphere in which one does not have to concentrate on a certain occur, but let oneself be carried away into a dream world by the music and colors in order to let the subliminal stimuli take impact.
