Who Are We? [FILM]

Part of my 'Who Are We?' project, I chose to explore existing stereotypes of Scottish people and characterisations of us as people both by ourselves and by other cultures within the entertainment and film industries. Through examining these prejudices and how out of touch and outdated they are in today's society, we can self-reflect and question what it takes to be Scottish and realise how diverse and varying each of our experiences are as Scots.
I wanted to incorporate real Scottish people within the video, so I took scans of my own face (second bottom left) as well as those of some unfortunate souls. The photocopy effect really inspired me both aesthetically as well as technically, no other effects seemed to come close to capturing a raw, bare image the way that photocopying does.
