Alpha Iron Press is a Texas based Apparel company, they reached out wanting to create a a  new apparel illustration geared towards Crossfit lifters and the Crossfit Culture. I spent some time talking to the owner and getting a feel for theme and style they wanted to go with, they wanted an illustration that really hit that Conan the Barbarian or old school D&D book covers. From there I got great inspiration from Conan and created the WOD Slayer, a victorious here holding Kettlebell Skulls while perched on top of a wood workout box while wearing a weighted vest. All nods to what is called a "WOD" or Workout of the Day. The type had to fit the rough and barbaric theme, so Stone was the way to go. A mix of Conan and the Crossfit Culture all melted together to create a unique product.
