This spread incorporates florescent inks to create a greater spectrum of vibrant colors that cannot be achieved using four-color process alone.
This spread showcases a new print technology called Motioncoat. The rays eminating from the starburst are built using tiny patterns of clear coating that reflects light, creating an optical illusion that 'moves' the beams. It's a really cool effect you can't catch in a jpeg, you actually have to see the print!
Another spread you must see in print as a jpeg does not do it justice. The scales of this turtle were coated with an extremely thick clear coating called HUV High Gloss, producing a 3-D effect that adds even more life to this already incredible image.
LEFT: Using PMS ink bumps to add pop to an uncoated sheet, totem poles, matte paper and this technique have always been favorites of mine. RIGHT: New digital print technology using white ink on a metallic substrate creates an electric view of London bridge, and the print actually looks just as charged as the screen version of this page -- it's amazing!
