TOMO | Night lamp and company for children - Nachtlicht und Spielzeug für Kinder
Why a night lamp?
During my research I observed, that most night lamps are simply standing on the table, hanging on the wall or sitting in the socket. They lighten up the whole room, and only few provides the possibility to grab and carry them around. I find these two haptic feature - tangible and portable - important for a product to have, so the children can develop a trustful relation with it. A portable lamp offers the children the opportunity to operate the object by themselves and to direct the light whereever they want: under the bed, behind the chair, in the dark corner and so on.
How does TOMO work?
I. First you must charge the battery! A Mini-USB plug is planned.
II. Shake TOMO and the light goes on! TOMO lights up for 15 minutes then it turns itself off.
III. Use the colourful forms to play! They live between the clouds in the plush-pocket.
IV. Continue your stories in your dreams! Don't be afraid, the light stays on until you fall asleep.
Warum ein Nachtlicht?
Während meine Recherche habe ich beobachtet, dass die meisten Nachtlampen für Kinder einfach auf dem Tisch stehen, an der Wand hängen oder in Steckdosen fixiert werden. Sie beleuchten das ganzes Zimmer, nur wenige bieten die Möglichkeit sie anfassen und mitnehmen zu können. Ich finde diese zwei haptischen Eigenschaften (berührbar und tragbar) wichtig für ein Objekt, zu dem Kinder eine vertraulich Beziehung ausbauen zu können. Eine tragbare Lampe ermöglicht dem Kinder, sie selbstständig zu bedienen und das Licht dahin zu leiten,wohin es will: unter dem Bett, hinter dem Stuhl, in einer Ecke u.v.m.
Wie funktioniert TOMO?
I. Zuerst muss man die Batterie aufladen. Angedacht ist ein Mini-USB Stecker.
II. Schüttle TOMO und das Licht geht an! Es leuchtet bis zu 15 Minuten, dann schaltet es sich aus.
III. Nutze die farbigen Formen zum Spielen! Sie wohnen zwischen den Wölkchen in der Tasche.
IV. Nimm deine Geschichten mit in deine Träume! Kein Angst,das Licht scheint bis du einschläfst.
