Tiger's Nest, Bhutan Illustration 01

Taktsang monastery in Bhutan overlooks the Paro Valley and is over 10,000 feet above sea level. It was first built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave where Guru Padmasambhava is said to have meditated for three years, three months, three weeks, three days and three hours in the 8th century. I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to trek to the top and no illustration can justify the beauty of this sacred site. When you visit Bhutan, you can't help but notice the how happy the people are and how determined they are to make sure you love their country too!
