Hotel Marlowe – Brand Identity

Client: Hotel Marlowe
Project: Brand Identity
SMP: Art Deco inspired Hotel showcasing impeccable quality.
Hotel Marlowe is a refurbished luxury Art Deco Hotel based in the heart of Sydney that required a new identity. The hotel targeted elitists, and therefore the identity had to portray a 1920’s inspired world that is the epitome of style and sophistication.
The concept of two overlapping diamonds produced a unique symbol representative of the Art Deco Era. Negative space between the shapes created a realistic aspect to the design; with the negative space leading to a central figure - a keyhole. The logo symbolises Hotel Marlowe as a location that people dream to see what is inside - like looking through a keyhole.
Additionally, the custom logotype was designed to support the logo and closely referenced type trends of the 1920s. A colour palette of gold completed the identity highlighting the hotels' exclusivity.
