Knob Creek was running some very dark imagery in print and newsprint. In the pubs it was looking acceptable but not great and it was a grey mess in newspaper. So they called me and asked if I could alter the files to the various specs so the reproduction would be of the highest quality. So I retouched the files for the various newspapers and pubs, got on a first name basis with some of the pressmen and the result was beautiful newspaper reproduction that still held the details of the 300 dmax for pubs. As a result, I handled the rest of the year's Knob Creek prepress needs.
