Self Promotional Typeface Design _ Silent Revolution

The Brief _ The brief stated that for this project I had to develop and design a self promotional typeface. The brief further stated that it is very important to utilize your own and unique design style and that it reflects your personality. Furthermore this project had to include an execution where your typeface can be displayed.

The Concept _ My concept focuses on the following statement: I consider myself to be somewhat of a ‘Silent Revolution’. I am a silent and more reserved, but once you give me the opportunity, I can show you that I am a natural born leader. The whole project is based on the fact that I am not afraid to say something as it is, but I still know my place. The symbols that were created for this typeface all represent the different aspects of my personality, for example strength, strong-willed and honesty.

The Name _ SILENT REVOLUTION is an indirect reference to the contrast in my personality. I am strong-willed and a natural born leader, but I am also quite reserved (at first). Therefore the combination of the two, gave me the name for my typeface. This name implies that I have a lot to offer, as I am not a book to be judged by my cover.
