Euro 2016 is here and I decided to make a very short infographic about the group matches. Based on my all-time favourite football game Subbuteo, I designed the teams as Subbuteo players for a nice twist. I can still remember these sweet 80s memories of playing Subbuteo, one of the best tabletop football game.

Predictions: As I love making predictions, though I never take money bets, here are my thoughts for this football event. It is obvious, France will be "supported" more than normal, especially after the political problems, so the french people can stop protesting on the streets. So it very possible France will reach the final.

Other than that, I see Italy and Switzerland to have possibilities to proceed too far; in fact, Italy having a lot of possibilities to reach and win the Grand Final in my opinion. While most people see Germany as the best team right now, I will take the risk to predict they will not reach the finals. In general, there are many other nice teams with potential like Poland & Belgium.

 

Update 2 (Round of 16): Now the Group stage is over. France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland and Belgium have proceeded as I predicted. My prediction for this phase is Poland and Croatia will probably qualify, Wales & Belgium, Germany & Italy, France & England. There is a high possibility the Final will have Croatia or Belgium against Italy in my opinion. Just some thoughts, let's enjoy next round :)

 

Update 3 (Quarter-Finals): Round of 16 is over. Almost all the teams I predicted have proceeded this round (6/8 succesful predictions) and Italy is still the most possible winner of Grand Final. We will see :)

After each round, I think it's obvious Belgium-Italy is the most possible Grand-Final match (especially after Croatia disqualification) 

 

Update 4 (Semi-Finals): After big surprises for me, Italy, Belgium & Poland have not qualified but France goes for the final at full speed. Germany can't convince me for a trophy this time; Italy was a far better team for Euro 2016. Anyway, I hope France proceeds, it's a team, which amused its fan with a nice football style.

 

Update 5 (Final): So, the Final is here! France have made it as I mentioned it was very possible to be the team will reach the final. Germany was disqualified as I early mentioned, too. Now, the Final Match is very hard and I am not sure who will win. All people are waiting for France...but what about Portugal. I think, the Football God owes a Trophy for Portugal after their surprising loss in 2004 by Greece. So I will bet for Portugal.

 

Update 6: Portugal is the winner! As I predicted France reached the Final but didn't win the Trophy. It was not meant for them, as the Football God really owed a Trophy to Portugal since 2004.
