Before I started my project I had to research different layouts of posters to help me gather ideas. I used pinterest and found a couple images that I liked. I made a pinterest board on my profile. My pinterest:https://uk.pinterest.com/ciara_gribben/layouts/ I looked up this professional work of posters, and I took some of their ideas i kept putting layer on top of layer where as some have the artists that have made the posters in the image below. Some of there backgrounds are just colours where as i put the sky in at the top and then i included the image of the titanic building to show the where abouts where the poster is advertising. I got the idea from the poster below with the new york writting but then I decided to include more information into my poster e.g. more images to show more information as the new york one only lets you know that it is about new york. Also the Blah Blah... poster has the writting on it where as comparing my poster to that one, I have included a title and writting to inform the reader.
I then started my project I am doing for my photoshop class, I started off by including a picture of the titanic building in Belfast because it is well known and people would automatically think Belfast as my
project is based in Belfast.
When I started my poster I chose the background to be a picture of the titianic building.
I then decided to add in a picture I had taken of a garment I made myself. As it is off a finished garment which i sewed.
I then included the image of the sewing equipment needed while sewing garments together as it is relatable in this project.
I then decided to add in the writting for my poster.
This was the best outcome of options i could have developed because I included my own work into it, but also included the titanic building because the colors are similar and the building looks eye catching and very interesting.
I got the background idea from my researched work. I decided to out the image of the event as my full background, The layout they used looked a lot more professional to mine because I stuck two pictures on the side, I tried to take all the white background from the picture on the left but once i had finished I noticed that I had left a bit.
I found it hard to get rid of the background from my original side photos. I also found it hard to link some pictures together. If I had time to do it all over again I would try to make the pictures look better but would also spend more time on it and do more research of different layouts that I could have used.For my first time using photoshop I think it turned out well.
