Suspended Curiosities

Suspended Curiosities started out as part of a university project called Genius Loci, in which we were tasked with creating a short 15 second video, shot and edited fully on a mobile device. This video had to represent the mood, atmosphere and spirit of the place. For my location I chose Spitalfields Taxidermy, a small London shop located both at Spitalfields Market (Thursdays) and Brick Lane Tea Rooms Market (Saturdays & Sundays). Below is the final video I submitted for my project.
After producing our video we had to expand this by producing a minimum of two outcomes to convey this spirit and atmosphere further. Suspended curiosities is one of these outcomes, a set of three linework illustrations. The influence for these images is tarot cards as I felt like this played on the odd and curious nature of taxidermy as well as the symbolism animals can carry.
