The Toddler Travels

The Toddler Travels is a travel guide written for parents who are daunted by the prospect of traveling with their toddler-aged children.

When conceptualizing the illustrations, I took a lot of inspiration from vintage travel posters. I kept the palette limited and the coloring flat and simple so that the book would have an old-school print look.
Initial test drawings made to decide on which art style to use.
Ultimately the first option was chosen.

Final book cover. Driving home the vintage travel poster aesthetic of the book by featuring vintage travel posters in the cover.

I also made the poster for the book's launch event. It features the book's poster girl riding a hot air balloon to add a bit of fun and childlike whimsy to the concept of travel.
