Fall Winter 2015/2016 Full Sweatshirt Collection

This is the first line of sweatshirts in digital prints I have ever designed.
The inspiration is taken from the street- and sportswear - what is noticeable by the geometry, simplicity, sharp lines and bright contrasts of the patterns. All that is mixed with the idea of a tribe, particularly, the tribes from North America and
their next-door neighbours from the South - the Aztecs and the Mayas.
Triangular shapes, houndstooth, bright coloured paisley patterns - all these have different origins and despite they are all arranged separately, the collection
is maintained coherent in terms of the ornaments and the composition.
Each piece refers to the other one and they all communicate with each other.
The collection expresses my fascination with the beauty and the colour of wildlife
and therefore I decided to use hand-drawn feathers in various colours, textures and shapes as the main theme of this line. I cannot justify it myself but somehow I find feathers to be an equivalent of leaves (associated with the world of flora) in the world of fauna.
The last two pieces below show my fascination with patchworking and juxtapositioning of different references in order to give a print more abstract and contemporary feel.
I also like the idea of recycling old pattern in order to create something new and fresh. These prints bring more powerful appearance and send a very strong "tribal" message.
