This wild poppy was probaby seeded by birds.  It grew in the managed gardens of a residential development in the UK. As a welcome invader--I think that the British gene pool determines that most things must be allowed to grow--it put a powerful mark on the site.  The early morning light invited you in to visit the core of the flower.
This hothouse rose was growing at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square Pannsylvania, on the East Coast of the United States. Look up Longwood Gardens on Wikipedia and think of Pierre du Pont.
This little owl was part of an exhibition to promote the care of wildlife. I am always humbled by the general concern for wildlife of all kinds in the UK. I guess that if you live on an island, albeit a very large one, your sensibilities are somehow tuned to things that are essential to life.
