End of the World: 2012
I created this project in my Fashion Design class in fall 2011 while studying abroad in Rome, Italy. Below I have included excerpts from my 20 piece collection. I included my sketches in a book format twined together with faux leather ties. My book includes a cover, inspiration page, and page of fabric swatches. My 20 sketches are accompanied by 10 flats done by hand using black fine line markers. These sketches were completed using markers, colored pencils, and fine line markers. For this project, I wanted to go for more of a dark edge. I created this collection to show my interpretation of the end of the world. I included items such as ropes, plastic, and a lot of seaming of fabrics to reflect the scarcity of materials that will be available after the world has ended.
