Pre Press Guide Project

Client: (PIP) Pre Press Guide

Requirements: Starting with the basic written series of instructions, create a predominantly visual and clearly communicative piece suitable for the intended audience. Not a wall chart, also not in a simply functional booklet either. For example, don’t be afraid to consider a more original, unique method of presentation such as an interactive wheel or dial, a set of flash cards, or board game that could be given away at a trade show, included as a magazine insert or a B2B direct mail “gift.”

Your final piece should ultimately demonstrate the steps in planning a project to be sent to a commercial printer. This is often called “Prepress.” Communicate the appropriate steps and considerations in a visually rich and easy-to-follow way. Present some of the options and demonstrate what they mean.  (In presenting the sequence of steps, you may also choose to show what can go wrong.) Select from the list of pre-press terms EIGHT and make sure you clearly explain and visually present what they mean. You may find that some of the terms overlap, or in explaining one term you have to explain other concepts as well. Each term is only a starting point.
