B-Movie Poster - Final Poster

My themed poster is to be considered as both sci-fi and horror since the character takes on his disfigured form by way of an an unfortunate scientific catastrophe, which in turn, cause a great scary element to the (fake) story.

I started this project by first choosing the exact era I wanted to portray.  Once I honed in on that, I had to figure out if I wanted to use color, or black and white only.  Surely I could have made a colored poster that appeared to be old, but I felt that a black and white approach would immediately gives off an aged feeling.

I then wanted to incorporate all the tropes involved, from the silly sayings, to absurd disclaimers, and to the crazy titles and introductions.  I did this for purpose, for I didn't want to limit myself and exclude any of the fun portrayals.

The part that was arbitrary, was the collection of images, and the drawing I included.  I snapped shot a selfie of my face and drew a creature rendition (Froggerman) and grabbed images from Google that depicted anything from the 1950's.  The images that I found (that I deemed the best) were dropped into the poster.

At this point, I simply started arranging, and it wasn't till I made the correct fittings and adjustments, that I came up with the story line.

One interesting detail is, I used downtown Phoenix as the backdrop, and it couldn't have been more fitting.

Also, I personally felt that the poster came out very evenly proportioned and that the silhouettes really added to the theme.

Finally, the movie studio logo and starring cast put the theme into play, by identifying it as a (fictional) film to the viewer.

Overall, I think it came out wonderful.
